At the Mauna Kea Hotel, you will be about 40 minutes away from
Kona Village,
a small town by the ocean, with lots of shops and restaurants. It's a fun place to go, even if you don't plan on buying things. You are also not far from
Hapuna Beach,
one of the other fantastic white sand beaches on the island.
The one thing many people complain about, is the restaurant prices. If you eat at the restaurant, expect to pay a LOT more than you want to.
Overall, this is a very, very nice hotel, and is one of the best on the island. Most people thoroughly enjoy themselves here, and go home happy with their vacation. If you want to relax in a luxurious, tropical paridise, The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is the perfect choice!
