The Big Island is very different from the other islands...it isn't so touristy. It has the active volcanoe that you can hike to and actually see the lava flow. It has terrific places to swim, snorkel, surf, boogie board (and any other water activities you can think of). This island also has beautiful sandy beaches, - black, white, and green. The list of things to do goes on and on! The Big Island is less busy than the other islands, and has less places to shop, and find entertainment... But the Island itself has a lot to offer. If you want a truly authentic Hawaiian experience, The Big Island is the place to have it.
