Hawaiian beaches
Mauna Kea Beach

One of the most gorgeous Hawaiian beaches, Mauna Kea is a crescent of white sand that is just over 1/4 of a mile long. Just north of Hapuna Beach Park on the Big Island, Mauna Kea Beach is in a protected cove, so the water is more calm and there is less wind.

Hawaiian Beaches Mauna Kea
There is so much to do at Mauna Kea Beach! Kayaks, boogie boards, and other kinds of boats, are available for rent. There is a small reef on the north side of the shore, which is great for snorkelers. Some people start their own game of volleyball on the beach.

It is one of the few beaches in Hawaii that is beautifully landscaped. Just outside the beach, the grass is cut, the bushes are nicely trimmed, and there are flowers along the walk ways because it is right next to the Mauna Kea Beach Resort. The water is a turquoise blue, and when the sun is going down, making the sky orange and pink, you can enjoy the beautiful beach sunset.

Beach Sunset Mauna Kea Beach has bathrooms and showers. However, there is only room for 30 cars in the parking lot. So, you’d better get there early...
