Oahu Beaches
Oahu beaches are perfect for all kinds of beach activities.. swimming, surfing, snorkeling, boogie boarding, tanning, you name it!
Oahu is known as "The Gathering Place." It is touristy, and faster paced than the rest of the islands... So when you go to the beach there, you can expect to have a smaller patch of sand for yourself than you would on the other Islands... But it's all good fun - everyone just wants to frolic in paradise and have a good time!
Share your Hawaii beach story with the world!
The South Shore of Oahu stretching from Waikiki to Diamondhead, is home to some of the most popular Oahu beaches, including
Waikiki Beach,
which is considered one of the most famous beaches in the world! These are all great family beaches, ideal for swimming and playing on the beach. Other South Shore beaches include,
Hanauma Bay,
(which is great for snorkeling!), and Sandy Beach.

If you're a surfer, or if you want to go watch the pros,(this is where a number of surf competitions are held) the North Shore of Oahu is the place to be. The waves are perfect for surfing, especially during the winter months between November to February. The North Shore is great for swimming in the summer time - when the waves aren’t so big and scary. Some of these beaches include: Ali’i Beach Park, Waimea Bay Beach park, KeWa’ena, Ehukai Beach Park, and Sunset Beach.
The East Shore - the windy side - is perfect for sailing and windsurfing. Some beaches on the East Shore are : Makapu’u Beach Park, Bellows Beach Park, Kailua Beach Park, Kualoa Regional Park.
The West Shore of Oahu has good beaches for swimming and off shore fishing. Some of these beaches are: Makaha Beach Park, Pokai Bay Beach Park, Nanakuli Beach Park, and Ma’ili Beach Park.

When going to Hawaii beaches make sure to always follow these safety guidlines...
