Poipu Beach on Kauai

I went to Kauai last Christmas for the first time, to visit family. They showed me around most of the island, and it was beautiful! I saw a lot of beaches, but my favorite was definantly Poipu Beach. We went there several times, and each time there were monk seals sleeping on the beach!.. Well, at first I thought they were dead, but they weren't- there were signs saying that they often come to sleep on the beach. They were so cute! And it was cool to be able to see them so close. I really miss Hawaii, especially now that it's so cold here in Wisconsin! Sadly, I can't go back this Christmas, but I hope to come back again next winter!


Comment by Sophia I remember thinking the exact same thing when I first saw those seals, and breathing in a sigh of relief when I saw a nearby sign: "Monk Seals Sleep on Beach." I love Poipu beach. :) Thank you for sharing your story! - it brings back wonderful memories.
