Stand-up paddle boarding!

by Kelly
(Boston)

When I went to Maui, me and my sister, Sarah, went to Changs Beach. We were laying on the beach (gettin our tan on!) watching a couple people surf. Some people who were farther out, were stand up paddle boarding, but they were too far away for us to really tell what they were doing.

A while later, the paddle boarders finally come ashore and we asked them about it. After talking for a while, they convinced us to give it a try, and we did! If was a new experience. Although I've never surfed (sadly enough), I guess it is kinda like surfing, but not as extreme. We kept falling off the board everytime a wave came, but the people we were with said that you can catch waves. The only thing, was that it was really easy to get far from shore, so I'm glad we were with experienced people. Anyway, it was a lot of fun!

Reply from Sophia Stand-up paddle boarding is tons of fun! My first paddle boarding experience was in Maui too. And yes, it is really easy to get taken out too far.. (let this be a warning to all of you who want to try it.) I'm so glad you were able to experience this while you were in Hawaii!
