The Hilton Waikaloa

by Bryan
(Pensylvania)

When we went to the Big Island, we stayed at the Hilton Waikaloa, and we loved it. Very nice rooms, and a very tropical feel. The place is enormous! Not all the rooms had a view of the ocean, and we were one of the unlucky ones who were rather far back. But it was still very nice. There was a small bus/train that traveled around the huge hotel property, as well as boats, (yes, boats.)

The pool was really amazing! There were small waterfalls in the pool, there were little cove-like areas under the waterfall made of lava, and there was a hot-tub in the pool that you had to swim to.

There was also a dolphin pool, where they had dolphins that you could swim with! (okay, you have to pay a bunch of money to swim with them.. and there might be an age limit..) But it was still fun to sit and watch. You can sit close by and see pretty well. We had a little picnic one day on the grass and watched the trainers working with the dolphins. Boy I bet they love their job!

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton. We recommend it to others, and would come here again in the future.
